A nice quiet getaway.
Lake-o-pines is tucked away in rolling farmland just outside of Hartville Ohio, where you can find basic dining and antique shops, along with the usual retail and grocery should you have forgotten any supplies. It is primarily a location used by folk who have permanently moored camping trailers as a summer weekend getaway, (or snowbird living) but they do offer a section for temporary camping with a central RV dump site and a grassy tent sites near the fishing lake. If you have your own canoe or paddleboat, you may use it, but they do not allow motors aside from small electric fishing motors. Fishing for bass is catch and release, so don't expect to bring a creel full of supper to your site! On the grounds they have a playground, picnic pavilion, volleyball and horseshoe court, and a swimming pond. Occasionally they have bluegrass or gospel music events, these are right near the temporary camping area so you may want to call ahead if you don;t like that kind of thing.
I found their phone number and email address to contact in case you are planning a visit.
