It is also a vital center for research into the history, science, and technology of aviation and space flight. Located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the Museum has hundreds of artifacts on display including the original Wright 1903 Flyer, the "Spirit of St. Louis," Apollo 11 command module, and a Lunar rock sample that visitors can touch. The museum continues to develop new exhibits to examine the impact of air and space technology on science and society." - SI & Recreation.Gov | |

| National Postal Museum | "The National Postal Museum, a Smithsonian Institution museum, is located in the old Post Office building next to Union Station in Washington, D.C. The Museum was created by an agreement between the Smithsonian Institution and the United States Postal Service in 1990 and opened to the public in 1993. In addition to the stamps, the museum has postal stationery, postal history material that pre-dates stamps, vehicles used to transport the mail, mailboxes, meters, greeting cards, covers and letters." - SI & Recreation.Gov | |
| Harmony Hall | "Harmony Hall is in the Broad Creek Historic District, the first historic district formed under Prince George's County preservation law. The house is an 18th century Georgian country house that architecturally ranks as one of the great early plantation houses and an outstanding early colonial house of Maryland. The front of the house faces the Potomac River and remains much as it appeared in 1766, the estimated time of construction. Harmony Hall was acquired by the National Park Service in 1966 under the provisions of the Capper-Crampton Act of 1930, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980." - NPS & Recreation.Gov |
